Assam Higher Secondary TET 2023: Application Details and Exam Structure

The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam (DSE), will conduct the Secondary School TET for the Higher Secondary level. Online applications will soon be invited from interested candidates for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for postgraduate teachers in secondary education in Assam. Here are the details of the application process and eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam Higher Secondary TET 2023

Educational Qualification: Post-Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks (or its equivalent) from a recognized University and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a National Council for Teachers Education recognized institution. Degrees obtained from off-campus and distance education institutions will not be considered valid.

Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 21 years old. The upper and lower age limits applicable at the time of appointment in Government/Provincial schools will be as per the prevailing Government rules/act.

Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam.

    The examination will be for 200 marks with two papers (Paper-I & Paper-II) consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying equal marks. The subject areas are as follows:

    Paper I (Common to all candidates):

    • Pedagogy
    • General English
    • Basic Numerical
    • Assam and Its People

    Paper II (Candidates have to choose one of the three options):

    • Option A: Exclusively commerce related
    • Option B: Exclusively Science related
    • Option C: General Studies and Current Affairs

    How to Apply for Assam Higher Secondary TET 2023:

    • Applications must be submitted online at the official website http://ssa.assam.gov.in.
    • Candidates are advised to submit their applications well before the closing date to avoid any disconnection or login issues due to heavy website traffic.
    • The TET Empowered Committee does not take responsibility for applications not being submitted within the last date due to the aforementioned reasons or any other reason.

    Other Important Points of Assam Secondary TET 2023

    The age limit will be calculated based on the School Leaving Certificate /HSLC Admit Card/ Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council, and no other document will be accepted.

    Blind candidates will have an additional 50 minutes for the examination, and a separate room/hall may be provided along with a scribe certified by the District Social Welfare Officer.

    In addition to academic and professional qualifications, candidates must pass the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Government, scoring a minimum of 60% marks for General category candidates and a minimum of 55% marks for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PH candidates.

    B.Ed degrees received from off-campus centers or unrecognized institutions/universities will not be accepted.

    “Degree” refers to a Master’s Degree, and no equivalence will be allowed.

    Candidates must enter the examination hall only with the Admit Card and a blue or black ball pen.

    Candidates wearing smartwatches or dresses with big buttons will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
